Month of May
, Sevilla
I'll summarize the month of May in one post because I want to catch up on my two-month delay before I go on another trip.
In the beginning of May, my dad visited me and we did the typical tourist things like visiting Real Alcázar. We went to a Tablao and on that day there was the football final of the Copa del Rey in Sevilla which we watched the end of on Alameda. The streets of Seville were crowded with Osasuna fans.
We saw the Isla de la Cartuja with its pavillons of Expo 92. It's great for walking and taking photos.
One evening we also had some Tinto de Verano on the rooftop bar of a hotel.
Also in May was the Eurovision Song Contest, which I watched with friends in a bar surrounded by other Europeans who did their Erasmus in Seville.
For university there was lots of work for the end of the semester, so I visited lots of cafés to work together with friends.
I visited the cinema here for the first time and we watched Super Mario in Spanish.
Then there was a burger festival where lots of burger restaurants had a food truck and each one offered just one burger. It was a competition between them so the people could vote which burgers they liked most. The first burger we tried was, in my opinion, absolutely disgusting. I can eat a lot but I couldn't manage to finish this abomination. In the beginning it was fine, but it was fatty, it was smokey and the combination of all the different tastes (don't remember exactly what it had) just wasn't good in my opinion. At least my friends also didn't like it so much from what I remember.
The ones we tried after that were all amazing, though.
At the end of May German/Austrian friends from the first semester in Seville visited the city. It was great to see them again. We saw another Tablao show and in the beginning of June went to a festival with electronic music. That was pretty chill but in the end it started raining hard. By the time I was home I was soaked.
We also went to the Centro Cerámica in Triana which contained some history about ceramics. After that we randomly walked around in Triana and found what may be the most beautiful street of Triana (Calle Alfarería).
There was also another football final, this time of the Europa League which we watched on Alameda again.
Sevilla played against Rome and Sevilla won, so the atmosphere was amazing.
