Surfing in Cádiz

, Berlin

In June a friend and I spent 2.5 weeks in Cádiz.

We rented a vacation apartment 5 minutes away from the beach. We had a time full of relaxing at the beach and good food from mostly cooking but also going out.

Normally, I thought I'd do sports too as there was also a fitness park at the beach. Only did it once, though because I was too lazy. I think it was fine during this time.

A sport we did do was surfing. We had a 5-day course and rented a board ourselves another day. It was the first time I tried surfing and liked it a lot. On other vacations I'd love to keep surfing.
The surf school itself was very cliché-like with people dropping the 🤙 and lots of decorations from Bali. The owner pointed on lots of things and told me "this is from Bali", "this is from Bali", "Guess what the dog's name is" (it was actually called Bali and had cute and soft curls). He recommended going to Bali for good waves.
There we were always surfing at the beach Santa María del Mar. It had surfable waves, but they were sometimes a bit too weak. I think it was a good beach for us beginners.

A few friends visited us in Cádiz too and one weekend we returned to Sevilla. There I said goodbye to a few flatmates already. Most Erasmus people left in June.
That weekend we had a Tortilla made by our Spanish friends, we went to the techno festival Rebels, and we were at the Bizarrap concert on Plaza de España.

Back in Cádiz we surfed more and saw Noche de San Juan at La Caleta beach.
