Valencia & Saplaya
, Sevilla
April 21. This time I went on a trip to Valencia with my French amis.
From the first day my highlight definitely was going to Port Saplaya. Its nickname is "little Venice" because the houses are located directly around the port and lots of houses are cute and colorful.
To get around Saplaya you walk along the water with each house having the boats basically directly in front of it.
To get there you can easily take a bus from Valencia.
After coming back to Valencia we had a Paella Valenciana for dinner. It might have been the first time I ate rabbit. Normally, it also contains snails, and I was ready to try them for the first time, but in that place the paella didn't have snails.
I still didn't try them until today and would probably need some mental preparation again before I try them.
The next day we went to the place Valencia is most known for I think, the City of Arts and Sciences with a museum, aquarium, opera house, etc.
We just walked around and looked at the beautiful architecture, walked through the science museum, and then went into the park that's also there.
They have a sculpture resembling a heart in memory of the Covid-19 victims. It's the first one I've noticed anywhere, and it felt good to see.
Afterward, we walked around the beach and cooked at home.
On the last day we had a great pizza with wine for lunch and went to the animal park of Valencia. On the way there we found a little lake too where we rented a pedal boat and relaxed on the water.
